Alibaba Appoints Liu Dayiheng to Lead Qwen Large Language Model

Alibaba has appointed Liu Dayiheng as the head of its Qwen large language model, and the Yunqi Conference website has updated his title to Qwen LLM project lead. According to ChainCatcher, Liu joined Alibaba in 2021 and has since been a core member of the Qwen research and development team. In March, Qwen technical lead Lin Junyang left to start a business, and in June, Zhou Jingren, who oversaw AI model development, stepped down from related management duties and became Alibaba's chief scientist. After these changes over the past six months, the leadership of the Qwen large language model line has now been formally clarified. Liu is also featured prominently at this year's Yunqi Conference. He is listed among the keynote speakers after Alibaba Chairman Tsai Chongxin and CEO Wu Yongming, and will deliver a main forum speech titled "Qwen: Toward Real-World Agents."
