According to CNBC, IRS CEO Frank Bisignano said he expects every family could someday have a Trump Account, and he wants 70 million children under 18 to have one of the new tax-deferred investment accounts. Families have so far signed up 6.5 million children, according to a July 10 tally from the U.S. Treasury Department. Bisignano said he has met with CEOs of tax-preparation companies about distributing the accounts and also sees banks as a possible channel. He pointed to the $1,000 federal seed money for babies born between 2025 and 2028, employer matching funds and grants from philanthropists Michael and Susan Dell as incentives to boost enrollment.
