Bitcoin Network Mines First Block Using Stratum V2 Protocol, Documenting Bitcoin Says

Bitcoin’s network has mined its first block using the Stratum V2 mining protocol, according to Documenting Bitcoin. According to ChainCatcher, Stratum V2 differs from the widely used Stratum V1 by allowing individual miners to build their own block templates and choose which transactions to include, rather than leaving those decisions entirely to mining pools. The report said Stratum V2 keeps the mining pool revenue distribution mechanism while reducing pools’ control over transaction selection. It added that this shift could support greater decentralization in Bitcoin mining and improve resistance to censorship.
