The dollar index, which measures the U.S. dollar against six major currencies, increased by 0.02% on the 2nd, closing at 99.219 in the foreign exchange market. According to ChainCatcher, the exchange rates at the New York forex market's close showed 1 euro trading at 1.1628 dollars, slightly down from 1.1631 dollars the previous day. Meanwhile, 1 British pound was valued at 1.3469 dollars, up from 1.3458 dollars. The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, trading at 159.91 yen compared to 159.76 yen earlier. It also rose against the Swiss franc, reaching 0.7873 francs from 0.7864 francs. However, the dollar weakened against the Canadian dollar, trading at 1.3832 dollars, down from 1.3842 dollars. Lastly, the dollar appreciated against the Swedish krona, closing at 9.3155 krona, up from 9.3059 krona.
