According to HKET, RTHK and Yahoo Taiwan, Asian index futures firmed in overnight trading after U.S. equities rebounded, ending a four-session slide, as oil prices eased and an in-line August U.S. CPI reading hardened expectations for a Federal Reserve rate increase. The Dow rose 509.19 points, or 0.98%, to 52,573.29.
Nikkei 225 futures recovered in the Osaka overnight session. The near-month December 2026 contract closed the night session at 64,510, up 550 points, per JPX official data, rebounding from the Tokyo cash market's near-2% loss earlier Friday.
Hong Kong futures were little changed overnight, with the Hang Seng Index night futures ending 6 points lower at 24,793 and the H-share night index up 0.4% at 5,811. The Hang Seng cash market had closed Friday down 148 points at 24,805.
