UBS Analysts Say Micron’s Long-Term Contracts Can Withstand Market Downturns for Years

UBS analysts said Micron Technology’s long-term customer contracts are strong enough to endure any market downturn for at least the next few years. According to Odaily, investors may worry that a market slowdown could weaken these agreements, but the contracts’ minimum price levels are set low enough that meaningful additional supply would not arrive soon enough to break the price floor and prompt customers to consider defaulting. UBS analysts said this supply dynamic would not emerge until as early as 2029, and more likely 2030. They added that Micron has also received prepaid cash from customers that could ultimately approach $40 billion to $50 billion, which they said could serve as a buffer in the event conditions worsen.
