Circle Mints 10 Billion ARC Tokens, Plans Arc Network Shift to PoS in 2027

Circle has completed the genesis minting of 10 billion ARC tokens for its Arc network and plans to transition the network to proof-of-stake (PoS) in 2027. According to Odaily, Circle is the first publicly traded company to mint a network token for a new Layer 1 blockchain; ARC is intended for network security, utility and governance. Arc’s public mainnet launched on September 16, attracting more than 100 institutions and ecosystem builders on its first day and integrating USDC natively. Future development will focus on PoS, privacy and scalability. The Arc developer community has more than 75,000 Arc House members and 10,000 Architect ambassadors. More than 1,200 projects were built during the private mainnet phase.
