Elon Musk agreed with Chamath Palihapitiya’s prediction that 2027 would be turbulent for companies providing AI infrastructure, saying computing capacity could become idle assets in unfinished data centers. According to Sina Finance, Musk said more than 200 neocloud providers could face large-scale shakeouts and consolidation, with many smaller players exiting. He also said debt markets had nearly shut off financing for companies unable to generate substantial revenue independently of AI data centers, adding that only a few would survive.
