Elon Musk said SpaceX’s space-based computing could surpass ground-based computing by the end of 2028. According to Odaily, Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire’s model projected SpaceX revenue at about $51.5 billion in fiscal 2026, $274 billion in fiscal 2027 and $731 billion in fiscal 2028, with growth driven mainly by its space infrastructure business, particularly ground-based computing. The model estimated that ground-based computing deployment would increase from 1 GW in early 2026 to 21 GW by the end of 2028. Musk said monthly additions of orbital computing capacity could exceed ground-based computing deployments by the end of 2028, with orbital capacity expected to lead significantly in 2029.
