Taiko DAO Submits Security Committee Proposal to Upgrade Cross-Chain Bridge and ERC20 Vault Contracts

Taiko DAO said it has submitted Security Committee Proposal No. 24. According to Foresight News, the proposal would upgrade four proxy contracts across the Ethereum and Taiko chains, including the cross-chain bridge and ERC20 Vault, and add a new resolver on L2. The contract code involved has already been audited, and TAIKO holders can exercise a veto within about 10 days. The proposal aims to fix a known issue in which tokens bridged for the first time from Taiko as the main chain to Ethereum fail to be delivered because the L1 registry points to an older implementation. The related message is currently stuck in the cross-chain bridge in RETRIABLE status, with funds remaining safe but the tokens not arriving. After the upgrade, a retry can be initiated. It would also raise the Gas limit for forwarding ETH through the cross-chain bridge from 35,000 to 135,000 to prevent smart contract wallets from being unable to claim messages permanently after the EIP-8037 (Glamsterdam) upgrade. In addition, the proposal adds single-signature cross-chain support for ERC20 tokens, including EIP-2612 and Uniswap Permit2, allowing users to avoid submitting a separate approval transaction.
