Zcash Holders Back NU7 Upgrade Proposal With Two-Thirds of Eligible Votes

About 2.4 million ZEC took part in the privacy vote for Zcash's next major network upgrade, NU7, accounting for roughly two-thirds of the tokens eligible to vote. According to Odaily, voters supported shortening block times to 25 seconds, keeping the Bitcoin-style halving schedule, and rolling out NU7 as soon as possible. They also backed delaying the reissuance of fees collected under the network sustainability mechanism until February 2031 and disabling transactions tied to the deprecated Sprout privacy system.
