U.S. Government Watchdog Says War Caused Strategic Stock Shortages

According to Wallstreetcn, a U.S. government watchdog on September 14 released its first report on the impact of the U.S.-Iran war, acknowledging shortages in advanced U.S. weapons stockpiles and disclosing damage to U.S. military aircraft, military bases, and diplomatic facilities in the Middle East. The Pentagon inspector general's report said the war caused "strategic stock shortages" and exposed industrial capacity bottlenecks in ammunition replenishment, while experts had previously estimated it could take about three years for the U.S. military to restore advanced missile and air-defense interceptor inventories to prewar levels.
