Zelenskyy Says Ukraine Is Ready to Support De-Escalation After U.S. Proposal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is willing to support de-escalation if the United States can ensure Russia is truly prepared to stop what he called a war aimed at destroying lives. According to Sina Finance, Zelenskyy said a strong U.S. proposal for both sides to stop striking critical infrastructure could be the first step toward easing tensions and ending Russian attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, as well as Ukraine's response actions. He said that if the United States can ensure Russia takes de-escalation measures, Ukraine will also take corresponding steps. Zelenskyy added that energy, grain transport routes, and critical infrastructure must all be included in discussions on stopping strikes, and said Ukraine needs a strong and fair solution that is not just for an election but resolves the issue once and for all.
