BlueWallet CTO Flags 45 iOS Crypto Wallet Apps for Potential Security Risks

BlueWallet's chief technology officer said he screened 904 iOS apps labeled as noncustodial crypto wallets and analyzed 494 of them. According to Odaily, 45 apps were flagged for possible severe or high-risk security issues, including 23 with potential severe risk and 22 with high risk. The issues cited included suspected uploads of seed phrases or private keys to servers, insufficient wallet randomness, server-side key storage, hardcoded encryption keys, and unsigned JavaScript code that could interact with sensitive wallet data. The CTO said the findings may include false positives and that apps not on the list are not necessarily safe.
