Sabah Coach Valdas Dambrauskas Returns To Old Trafford In Champions League

According to the BBC, Sabah manager Valdas Dambrauskas will return to Old Trafford on Thursday for a Champions League match against Manchester United, nearly 20 years after starting his coaching career with Manchester United Soccer Schools. Sabah will also face Arsenal in January as part of their group-stage schedule. Dambrauskas, 49, said his path into coaching began after he won 4,000 litas on the Lithuanian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2002 and used the money to move to London. He arrived in August 2002 on a student visa, worked multiple jobs while studying and coaching, and later earned a Uefa coaching licence through the London Football Association. After spells with clubs including Fulham and Brentford, he went on to manage teams across Europe. Sabah qualified for the Champions League after coming through four knockout ties, including a 5-2 win over Hapoel Beer-Sheva in the final qualifying round. The Azerbaijani club, formed in 2017, will host Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona and Napoli and travel to Villarreal in the league phase.
