Polish Lower House Fails to Override President's Veto of Crypto Regulation Bill

Poland's lower house failed on September 4 to override President Karol Nawrocki's veto of a cryptocurrency regulation bill. According to Odaily, lawmakers voted 241 to 198, with three abstentions, falling 25 votes short of the 266 needed. The bill would have designated the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, KNF, as the regulator for the crypto market and was vetoed by Nawrocki for the third time. Nawrocki said the bill would overregulate the industry and could push Polish companies abroad, while Prime Minister Donald Tusk cited an investigation involving the now-defunct exchange Zondacrypto before the vote and urged lawmakers to support the bill.
