Hong Kong to Release First Five-Year Plan, John Lee Says It Will Set Macro Strategy and Development Direction

According to Jin10, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu will announce the first five-year plan for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, covering 2026 to 2030, on September 16 and then deliver a new Policy Address. He said the plan will set macro strategy, define development direction, and align with China's 15th Five-Year Plan, while the Policy Address will focus on specific measures. Lee said measures implemented over the past few years under the Policy Address have continued to advance finance, innovation and technology, and education, ensuring the effective operation of the gold central clearing system, building a commodity trading ecosystem, attracting leading global companies to the Hetao Hong Kong Park, and developing the Northern Metropolis University Town.
