STOCKS | Hyundai Motor to Launch Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus in Oman

Hyundai Motor Group said on Friday that it will work with the Omani government and local companies to launch a hydrogen fuel cell bus in Oman and build EV charging infrastructure. According to Sina Finance, the group signed memorandums of understanding with Oman’s Ministry of Transport and local companies at a ceremony held at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center in Salalah, Oman, to advance sustainable mobility solutions. Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor will introduce the country’s first hydrogen-powered city bus in Oman and help build ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure. Oman state-owned transport company Mwasalat plans to open an eco-friendly public transport route in Muscat and pilot passenger service using Hyundai Motor’s ELEC CITY hydrogen fuel cell bus. Oman Oil Marketing Company will operate a 240-kW ultra-fast EV charger supplied by Hyundai Kefico at a gas station in Halban. After a six-month trial run, OOMCO will consider expanding its EV charging network. Hyundai Motor Group said it plans to use the partnership to expand its green mobility business in Oman from public transport into commercial vehicles and passenger cars.
