US Energy Secretary Says 17 Million Barrels Passed Through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright told reporters while traveling to Venezuela that 17 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. According to Sina Finance, a U.S. Department of Energy spokesperson said this was the largest figure since the conflict began. The spokesperson added that another 4 million to 5 million barrels of crude bypassed the strait through pipelines, pushing Monday's crude transport volume above prewar levels. Wright said the current average is 8 million barrels per day.
