Serenity Says Nvidia's $3.5 Billion MediaTek Investment May Shape Next-Generation ASIC Winners

Serenity said Nvidia appears to be using capital and strategic partnerships to identify potential winners in the next-generation ASIC sector after investing $3.5 billion in MediaTek. According to Odaily, Serenity compared the approach with Nvidia's earlier support for Nebius and CoreWeave, saying it could strengthen Nvidia's position across the AI infrastructure supply chain. Serenity said the strategy could have a second-order impact on Broadcom by narrowing its relative advantage in ASICs and may also push AMD, Broadcom, and some large cloud service providers to deepen cooperation. Serenity added that the move could further reinforce Nvidia's strategic position in the AI inference market and weaken the view that hyperscale cloud providers' in-house ASICs will pose a long-term challenge to Nvidia.
