U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs Post $201.9 Million Net Outflow, Ending Nine-Day Inflow Streak

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $201.9 million in net outflows on August 28, ending a nine-day streak of inflows that began in mid-August. According to ChainCatcher, the reversal reduced cumulative net inflows to about $55.1 billion, while total net assets stood at about $93.9 billion. Decrypt's ETF flow tracker turned its Bitcoin sentiment reading to bearish that day. Bitcoin ETFs had previously attracted $2.8 billion over an eight-day winning streak, during which Bitcoin briefly tested the $80,000 level and posted its largest single-day inflow since May, with August 20 marking a peak above $600 million. Ethereum ETFs continued to draw capital, posting $102.1 million in net inflows on August 28 and extending their inflow streak to ten days. According to ChainCatcher, cumulative net inflows for Ethereum ETFs reached about $12.9 billion, with total net assets of about $13.8 billion. Bitcoin pulled back after Fed Governor Kevin Warsh's hawkish remarks at Jackson Hole, following a rally that had pushed the price close to $80,000. Bitcoin later recovered to about $79,000 over the weekend. Analysts said the one-day outflow remained modest relative to the funds' cumulative size and did not necessarily signal a broad reversal in institutional demand.
