Zcash Client Team Releases Zakura Common Library With Faster Proof Generation

The Zakura team behind the Zcash full-node client has released Zakura Common, a library for the Zcash ecosystem that provides encryption and protocol functions. According to Odaily, official benchmarks show mobile proof generation is more than 14 times faster, desktop proof generation is more than five times faster, Sinsemilla hashing is more than 21 times faster, trial decryption is more than 1.5 times faster, and zk-SNARK verification is four to eight times faster. In many cases, the waiting time for wallets to create transactions can be reduced from more than 3 seconds to under 200 milliseconds. The upgrade does not require a network upgrade, has been open-sourced under the MIT/Apache 2.0 dual license, and Zakura 1.3.0 will switch to the new technology stack.
