Solana Double-Deflation Proposal Clears Voting Threshold as Fee Proposal Falls Short

Solana’s “double-deflation” proposal has finished voting with 60.69% participation, including 67% in favor, 25.16% against, and 7.84% abstaining. According to Odaily, the proposal reached the two-thirds support threshold needed for passage and would cut SOL inflation to about half of its current level, raising the deflation rate to 30%. Based on current estimates, the proposal would reduce SOL issuance by about 18.9 million tokens over the next six years. A separate “resource and inclusion fee” proposal also finished voting with 61.14% participation, but its 53.9% approval rate fell short of the two-thirds threshold. The proposal would introduce a transaction fee mechanism based on network resource usage and is expected to raise daily SOL burns from about 650 tokens to between 7,500 and 9,000 tokens.
