STOCKS | Alphabet Lifts Capex Outlook, Asian Shares Mostly Rise

Alphabet again raised its capital expenditure forecast, lifting chip stocks and helping South Korean shares lead gains with a rise of more than 3%, while Japanese shares also advanced and Taiwan stocks fell. A-shares were mixed, Hong Kong stocks climbed more than 1%, and the Hang Seng Index hit a one-month high and moved back above the 25,000-point mark, according to Ming Pao. The Hang Seng Index's 10-day moving average rose above the 50-day and 100-day moving averages.
