India Inflation Risks Tilt Higher on Energy Pressures, Report Says

India’s inflation risks may be skewed to the upside due to rising energy prices and weaker monsoon conditions. According to Jin10, a report from Eastspring Investments said the Reserve Bank of India may raise its policy rate by 25 basis points later in this quarter or in the fourth quarter. Eastspring Investments said India’s stock market would only be able to perform strongly if companies stop cutting earnings expectations and the rupee stabilizes.
