Ledger has expanded support for Celo by integrating Celo’s CIP-64 fee abstraction feature into Ledger Live, allowing users to pay on-chain gas fees with 18 Celo native assets instead of only the CELO token. According to ChainCatcher, the supported assets include USDT, USDC, USDm, EURm, GBPm, JPYm, CADm, AUDm, CHFm, BRLm, NGNm, PHPm, COPm, KESm, ZARm, XOFm, GHSm, and WETH.
CIP-64 is a core mechanism introduced in Celo’s Gingerbread hard fork in July 2023, enabling transaction fees to be paid directly using approved ERC-20 tokens.
Ledger said that, based on official disclosures, nearly half of transactions on the Celo network currently settle fees using U.S. dollar stablecoins rather than CELO.
Ledger previously added support in Ledger Live in December 2025 for sending, receiving, and swapping CELO and Celo native stablecoins.
