PRECIOUS METALS | Bloomberg Analyst Balchunas Says GLD Has Seen Nearly $15 Billion in Outflows Since March 1

SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) has recorded nearly $15 billion in outflows since March 1, according to Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas in a post on X. According to Odaily, Balchunas said the outflow total is about 50% higher than the combined outflows from all spot Bitcoin ETFs since their peak in October last year. The analysis described the gold market as entering an “After the Gold Rush” phase of capital reallocation. It said gold ETFs previously drew substantial inflows and helped push gold prices higher amid rising geopolitical risks, inflation concerns, and increased demand for safe-haven assets. By comparison, the analysis said spot Bitcoin ETFs saw large inflows after approval, but flows have recently become more mixed as market volatility increased. The report added that large-scale redemptions from gold ETFs indicate some investors are adjusting their allocations to safe-haven assets, and it said whether funds move into digital assets such as Bitcoin will remain a focus for the market.
