OpenAI said it will discontinue its standalone desktop browser, ChatGPT Atlas, and integrate its features into a newly released ChatGPT desktop app.
According to PANews, citing 9to5Mac, OpenAI expects Atlas to be officially disabled on August 9. The company said it will provide migration guidance via in-app notifications and email.
The new ChatGPT desktop app integrates the ChatGPT Work agent and ChatGPT Codex, and includes full browser capabilities. OpenAI also offers a Chrome extension that lets users access ChatGPT features within their existing browser.
