Crypto Trader Applies Legendary HODL Strategy to EUR/USD Forex Bet

A trader on decentralized exchange Ostium has held a roughly $1.14 million long position in EUR/USD perpetual futures for 400 days, applying a bitcoin-style HODLing approach to forex. The position was opened around early June 2025 and has incurred an annual holding cost of about 2.3% via volatility-based rollover fees rather than typical crypto funding rates, according to CoinDesk. Ostium said EUR/USD was above 1.14 and largely unchanged from June last year after peaking at 1.2082 in January.
