Trump to travel to Turkey for NATO summit as alliance weighs Ukraine war and defense spending

CNBC reported that Russia struck Kyiv on Sunday with dozens of missiles and hundreds of strike drones, killing at least 11 people, while the Kremlin said Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a nearly 90-minute call a day earlier; NATO members agreed last year to raise defense spending to 5% of GDP from 2% by 2035, and the Trump administration is pressing allies to reach that target sooner, with a senior U.S. official saying to expect “billions of dollars in announcements” on the sidelines in Ankara.
