Binance COIN-M Futures Upgrade Will Cap Sub-Account Leverage at 5x and Pause New API Key Creation

According to the announcement from Binance, additional service changes will apply during the Binance Futures COIN-M system upgrade period, including leverage limits for certain COIN-M Futures accounts and a temporary restriction on creating new API keys. Binance said that starting from 2026-06-30, leverage levels over 5x will not be available to COIN-M Futures accounts created by regular users’ sub-accounts. If a regular user’s sub-account currently has leverage set above 5x, Binance Futures will adjust the leverage level down to 5x during the upgrade period. Binance stated that this adjustment will not affect existing positions that were opened before the upgrade. COIN-M Futures and API Key Timing: Binance also noted that Futures running grid may expire due to the leverage adjustment, and said users should adjust accordingly prior to the start of the upgrade. Separately, Binance said API users will not be able to create new API keys from 2026-06-30 01:00 (UTC) to 2026-06-30 07:00 (UTC). The announcement described these items as additional impacts beyond other affected services referenced for the COIN-M system upgrade period.
