Kalshi Launches U.S.-Regulated Crypto Perpetual Futures After CFTC Approval of BTCPERP Contract

Kalshi has launched U.S.-regulated crypto perpetual futures, with leverage examples dated June 3 ranging from 5.9x for Bitcoin to 2.2x for HYPE. According to NS3.AI, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved KalshiEX’s BTCPERP contract on May 29 as a futures contract that references Bitcoin’s spot price. Kalshi’s materials indicate the offering spans markets tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and other crypto assets. The materials also note that Bitcoin has the clearest depth advantage, citing its larger spot market footprint and more established benchmark infrastructure.
