Iraq Resumes Oil Transport to Syria After 13-Year Hiatus

Iraq's border management authorities announced on the 2nd that 70 oil tankers carrying crude oil entered Syria through the Rabia border crossing. According to Odaily, this marks the reopening of the land route for oil transport after a 13-year suspension. The Rabia crossing, located in Iraq's northwestern Nineveh province, had been closed since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011 and was reopened in April this year. The crossing is situated near the oil fields of Mosul and Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
