TRON Network's Super Representatives have initiated Proposal No. 106, which is currently in the committee voting phase. According to ChainCatcher, if the proposal is approved, it is expected to take effect on April 10 at 20:00 (UTC+8). The proposal seeks to modify the execution behavior and cost of the SELFDESTRUCT instruction: a contract will only be truly deleted if the instruction is called within the same transaction that created the contract; otherwise, only the contract's assets will be transferred, and the contract itself will not be deleted. Additionally, the energy consumption for SELFDESTRUCT will be adjusted from 0 to 5000.
If passed, the changes will further align the mechanism with Ethereum, enhancing TVM compatibility. TRON advises developers who have utilized SELFDESTRUCT to closely monitor the proposal's progress and prepare for adaptation in advance. In cases of node desynchronization, it is recommended to first check whether the upgrade to version v4.8.1 has been completed.
