According to Jin10, the exact proportions of these colors remain unclear. The new design replaces the blue and white scheme used since John F. Kennedy's presidency and reintroduces the red, white, and blue palette proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump during his first term. Reuters reported that Trump's color scheme was previously considered by the Air Force to potentially cause overheating issues due to the dark colors. In 2022, the Biden administration deemed the proposal likely to increase engineering work, time, and costs, leading to its rejection. However, the U.S. Air Force has not detailed how the new design addresses the heat dissipation concerns.
