Trump Says He Is Near a Major Decision on Iran War

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he is approaching a key decision on the Iran war, including whether to resume large-scale attacks in an effort to end the conflict. According to Sina Finance, he said, "I have a major decision coming up. Do I go in and wipe them out, the Iranian regime, or not? That is a major decision. Anything can happen with me." Trump said he wants to hear directly from regional allies about the next step in the war at a meeting planned for Tuesday in New York during the United Nations General Assembly. According to Sina Finance, the meeting could shape the next phase of the war, including whether diplomacy is pushed again or military action is intensified. The countries involved include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. Trump declined to say whether he would decide on a course of action before or after the midterm elections. According to Sina Finance, U.S. officials said Trump and U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth have ordered the military to keep current forces in the Middle East through year-end, so it remains ready to return to full combat operations.
