Former Directors Accused of Misappropriating 4.6 Billion Yen From Masami Kurumada Firms

Three copyright and merchandising rights management companies represented by Saint Seiya creator Masami Kurumada have filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court. According to Foresight News, the plaintiffs allege that former directors, including a former manager who handled accounting for many years, misappropriated about 4.6 billion yen in company funds between around 2018 and 2024. The funds were allegedly used for cryptocurrency investments and other purposes. After deducting about 1.8 billion yen that was returned, the plaintiffs are seeking compensation for the remaining roughly 2.8 billion yen.
