TSMC Adds More 3-Nanometer Capacity as AI Demand Rises

TSMC is adding more capacity for advanced processes below 3 nanometers at customers' request as demand rises for AI and high-performance computing applications. According to ChainCatcher, market participants expect 3-nanometer output to surpass 5-nanometer output for the first time in the second half of the year. They also estimate that TSMC's third-quarter output value will exceed 400 billion yuan for the first time, reach a record high, account for more than 30% of revenue, and support gross margin performance.
