Cathie Wood: Institutional entry will break Bitcoin's four-year cycle

In an interview with Fox Business, Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood stated that Bitcoin's historical four-year cycle will be "broken" due to the massive influx of institutional investors. Wood believes that institutional entry into this new asset class will prevent a significant drop in Bitcoin's price, and that Bitcoin's volatility is decreasing. She also pointed out that Bitcoin is now acting as a "risk-on asset," contrasting with gold, which is more of a "risk-off asset." Furthermore, Standard Chartered, a UK bank, expressed a similar view in a report released earlier this week, arguing that the emergence of ETFs has rendered the traditional Bitcoin halving cycle "no longer relevant" as a price driver. Standard Chartered has lowered its 2025 Bitcoin price forecast from $200,000 to $100,000.
