Li Chenggang, China's International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce, stated on the 26th that the two sides discussed a wide range of issues, including export controls, a matter of mutual concern; the further extension of the suspension period for reciprocal tariffs; fentanyl tariffs and cooperation on fentanyl counter-narcotics; further expansion of trade; and US measures related to Section 301 vessel charges. The two sides engaged in constructive discussions on these issues, with the US expressing a firm stance and China firmly committed to safeguarding its interests. After more than a day of intense discussions, the two sides constructively explored solutions to appropriately address mutual concerns and reached a preliminary consensus. The next step will be for each side to complete internal approval procedures. (Jinshi)
