Global Central Banks Cut Interest Rates 168 Times in Past Year

According to BlockBeats, data from the Kobeissi Letter reveals that central banks worldwide have reduced interest rates 168 times over the past 12 months, marking the third-highest number of rate cuts this century. The previous peak occurred in the 12 months following June 2020, with a total of 196 rate cuts. Following the 2008 financial crisis, global central banks cut rates 249 times in the 12 months leading up to October 2009. Although the Federal Reserve was among the last central banks to join the current cycle of rate cuts, it is expected to reduce rates two more times by the end of the year, aligning with the global shift in monetary policy focus.
