Taiwan’s New Crypto Law Could Take Effect In Q1 2027 With Tougher Licensing And Stablecoin Rules
Taiwan plans to introduce nine new crypto regulations, including detailed stablecoin rules, as early as Q1 2027 under its new Virtual Asset Service Act. The rules will require crypto firms and stablecoin issuers to meet stricter licensing, reserve, audit and disclosure requirements, while banks and businesses explore stablecoins for cross-border payments and trade.
