Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, said in a post on X: "Crypto made its debut on 60 Minutes tonight. There is no doubt that these technologies will continue to become more and more mainstream, and their influence and coverage will only continue to grow.
After watching the show, I do want to comment on a few things:
I talked to Margaret Brennan/60 Minutes for more than 90 minutes straight. When discussing the US SEC's wrongful lawsuit against Ripple, the show shockingly "omitted" the federal judge's ruling that XRP is not a security... John Reed Stark knows better, although his comments were chosen by 60 Minutes to air.
Finally, the view that cryptocurrency has no practicality is exactly the same as the criticism of opponents against the early days of the Internet, saying that it is nothing more than illegal activities. It turns out that they were wrong. Today, even JPMorgan Chase has begun to pay attention to blockchain... (60 Minutes also coincidentally did not mention that Ripple is conducting billions of dollars in KYC transactions for our institutional clients, using XRP to achieve cross-border funds transfer more efficiently than traditional payment methods.)"
