ECB sees no negative impact on banks from CBDC

Three senior European Central Bank managers say retail central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) will not have the negative impact on banks that many predict. Meanwhile, an EU parliamentary committee last week held its first vote on a report on digital euro legislation, with overwhelming approval. It seems likely that the digital euro legislation will be passed, given that parliamentary parties support the law.
