According to ChainCatcher citing Stand With Crypto and Molly White, Galaxy Research head Alex Thorn said major digital-asset legislation is unlikely to make substantial progress after Democrats won both chambers of the U.S. Congress, as committee leadership changes. Warren may chair the Senate Banking Committee, while Maxine Waters could retake leadership of the House Financial Services Committee.
Stand With Crypto counted 19 pro-crypto senators and 226 pro-crypto House members elected. Molly White’s tracking showed that crypto- and AI-backed political action committees lost 9 of 12 closely contested races but won all 40 safer races.
Reports say House Democrats are discussing expanding Waters’ previously proposed Crypto Investor Consumer Protection Act into a broader crypto market structure bill. Thorn said he does not expect substantial progress on key digital-asset legislation. He added that the SEC, CFTC, and banking regulators have clarified crypto rules under existing statutory authority, and that the Trump administration has two years to continue its work.
