According to CNBC, outside groups are urging congressional Democrats to prioritize corporate oversight and cost-of-living issues over investigations focused on President Donald Trump as they prepare to take control of key investigative committees in the next Congress. A poll conducted by Groundwork Collaborative and Hart Research found that two-thirds of voters think investigations into corporate greed should be a high priority, compared with 58% who said Congress should prioritize Trump’s personal corruption. Democrats are expected to investigate companies in the technology, cryptocurrency and prediction market industries that did business with or benefited from the Trump administration. Sen. Ron Wyden is expected to lead the Senate Finance Committee, which a person familiar with the matter said would investigate JPMorgan Chase’s banking relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and decisions by Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of the bank’s asset and wealth management division.
