The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is reviewing a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposal on how broker-dealers conduct digital-asset business, submitted earlier this week. According to Odaily, an SEC spokesperson said the agency expects to consider revisions to broker-dealer financial responsibility, recordkeeping and reporting requirements to clarify how the rules apply to crypto assets. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also submitted a separate proposal to OMB this week to strengthen consumer protections in prediction markets.
