Bill Huizenga Trails in Reelection Race as Digital Assets Subcommittee’s Future Becomes Uncertain

Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga, vice chair of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, has fallen behind Democratic challenger Sean McCann in his reelection race. According to Foresight News, crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett said on X that Huizenga, who supports crypto, serves on the committee’s Digital Assets Subcommittee, whose chair, Bryan Steil, has also lost his seat. The subcommittee’s name, scope and membership are determined anew by each Congress, Terrett said. It could be renamed, have its responsibilities changed or be dissolved.
