New Huo Group’s Global Macro Multi-Asset Strategy, with a research framework led by Fu Peng, has entered a seed-funding trial phase. According to Foresight News, the group is preparing to launch the strategy, which uses an FICC+C framework covering fixed income, interest rates, foreign exchange, commodities and digital assets to develop multi-asset allocation approaches for institutional investors, family offices and other professional investors.
The framework tracks interest rates as an independent macroeconomic variable, while “+C” refers to crypto and digital assets. It compares five asset classes across risk, liquidity, capital requirements, holding costs and hedging effects, and considers macroeconomic factors including growth, inflation, interest rates, U.S. dollar liquidity, exchange rates and risk appetite. Fu said markets are experiencing liquidity divergence, and that cross-asset comparisons need to account for the sources and transmission of liquidity.
New Huo Group CEO Weng Xiaoqi said the strategy reflects the group’s expansion from digital-asset services into research-driven multi-asset allocation and long-term asset management. Fu will participate in developing the macro research framework as chief economist. The group’s investment management team will independently handle investment decisions and trade execution; the fund manager is Xu Weidong, a former student of Fu.
