NY Fed Survey Finds Nearly Half of In-Office Workers Describe Their Jobs as Remote

According to CNBC, a September survey of 1,835 college-educated workers by New York Fed researchers found that 48.8% of respondents had no in-person meetings on the most recent day they worked in the office. On in-office days, 70.6% had at least one teammate who was not in the office, and 37% reported attending a virtual meeting even though all participants were at the same office. The researchers said in-office work often fails to provide the face-to-face contact employers seek through attendance mandates.
